Friends of Indian Art

Friends of Indian Art (FIA) is a membership group that was founded in 1990 to support the programs and collections at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture. Members are invited to special events each year that relate to the history, art and culture of the Native Americans in the Southwestern U.S.

FIA: Glass Blowing Ira Lujan and Robert Marcus
View two young, talented glass artists at work at Jackalope. Ira Lujan (Taos) says about his glass art: "Like clay, it is an art form that combines all the four elements of fire, water, wind, and earth, to ultimately create." Robert "Spooner" Marcus (Ohkay Owingeh) uses the contemporary medium of glass to express the artistic creations that define his culture. He uses mica as one of the main features in his vessels and sculptures.
