About the Shops
NewMexicoCreates.org is an innovative program helping New Mexico artists reach new markets via the Internet and museum shops.
WorldFolkArt.org, which features fair-traded work by international folk artists, is the online store for the Museum of International Folk Art. It provides an additional outlet for many artists who participate in the annual Santa Fe International Folk Art Market.
ShopMuseum.com carries exhibit-related items for the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and the Palace of the Governors (state history museum).
Museum of New Mexico Foundation Shops, the retail division of the Foundation, oversees the operation of four Santa Fe Museum shops and three Web sites. Through these outlets the Foundation strengthens creative entrepreneurship and promotes community economic development in New Mexico.
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation provided a two-year grant of $196K to support this unique economic development opportunity, which includes seminars to train artists on marketing, licensing, pricing, and small business loans. The MNMF received a Google Grant for in-kind online advertising to help the foundation shops reach new markets and promote community economic development in New Mexico.
The Foundation re-distributes all net income from the museum shops and Web sites to the four museums for education and acquisitions.
